SanDisk Milpitas Campus
SanDisk Campus- 5 Building, Milpitas, CA
Scope of Services:
Design Build HVAC, Process Piping, Plumbing, & ALC Controls
This project consisted of an interior demolition and renovation of the Milpitas SanDisk campus featuring five 2-story buildings totaling 580,637 square feet completed on an expedited phased schedule. The buildings included an auditorium, cafeteria, all-hands room, fitness facility, board room, numerous video-conference rooms, labs, cleanrooms, and a complete overhaul of the lobby and main entry.
Most of the HVAC equipment was replaced with higher efficiency VAV systems. Our piping work included the replacement of four boiler skids that were prefabricated in our shop to expedite the project schedule. The 36,000 square feet of lab space is cooled by adding dedicated cooling from DX package rooftop units, DX split systems and chilled water CRAC systems.
Process piping renovations in the labs included the addition of three 50-HP CDA systems, process vacuum, and process nitrogen. An ISO 6 (class 1000) clean room design with high purity piping was also part of the project. Process Chilled and Process Cooling Water skid mounted systems were also installed.
The plumbing features included a complete retrofit of the existing restroom cores, including lavatories, water closets, urinals and low-water consumption flush valves and faucets. We installed two complete new restroom cores along with seventeen showers for the fitness facility. A complete new plumbing system with grease waste was required for the remodeled cafeteria.
The demolition of the existing pneumatic controls systems and the installation of an ALC DDC control system for the entire campus was part of this project.
