Jim oversees all operations, including fabrication, project management, labor force, fleet, and logistics. He’s responsible for assessing and improving production and installation efficiency, forecasting the company’s labor needs, and planning logistics and fleet requirements. He assists with change order negotiations, contract reviews, and revenue projections.

His leadership is crucial in helping to ensure that the company is always moving forward, toward continuous improvement.

Expertise

Jim’s background includes over 26 years of experience in construction project management and operations oversight. He started as a Project Manager for a general contractor at the Boeing Long Beach Manufacturing Campus, then moved into the HVAC industry, where he subsequently managed projects for two California mechanical contractors. 

As a Senior Project Manager with University Mechanical and Engineering Contractors (an EMCOR company), Jim forecasted both project and monthly revenues, oversaw production tracking in the fabrication shop and field, and participated in the development, negotiation, and reconciliation of change orders.

He has extensive experience managing operations at mechanical contracting companies, with 14 years in such roles. Besides overseeing all aspects of project implementation and production, he also managed staff development and performance reviews, reviewed contracts, and forecasted work in progress. He was instrumental in the development and implementation of improved project controls and company growth.

Jim has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of New Brunswick. 

The Personal Side 

Jim enjoys camping on the Consumes River in Northern California, attending small town festivals, and traveling to Mexico, Canada, and Europe.
